Marion to Bermuda - almost ...

Well we were already to go with the Marion to Bermuda, but after watching a deteriorating forecast for a couple of days, decided on the morning of the race to withdraw. We were in the race to have a fun trip to Bermuda and back, and the forecast for a strong low to move in from the Great Lakes and stall over the rhumb line made that very unlikely. So we're now off on a two week New England island tour - Long Island, Manhattan, Nantucket, ... . Not quite as warm as Bermuda, but still a fun trip with a great crew.

New York City

We caught the tide down past New York City and then up the East River and through Hells Gates. It was a long day. We had left Hop-O-Nose Marina at 4am.

Stepping the Mast

We stepped the mast at Hop-O-Nose Marina on the Hudson River.
